The inclusion of requirements for alternative fuel sources in the next waste collection contract has been endorsed by Regional Council, as outlined in report PW-14-24. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Region's contracted waste management vehicles by integrating cleaner fuel options.
